A Love Story with a Phantasmal Twist

The parents of my friend Angie are considered by their children as soul mates. They've been married for more than 50 years. Throughout the years of their marriage, their children witnessed how they loved, respected and admired each other. Yes they argue but they never fight and they are always in love.

Last year, Angie's mom died and her father was left with Alzheimer's Disease. Every time she would check on her dad, he would always tell her that her mom came ahead of her to remind him to eat on time, not to forget his medicines, that she always cares for him, and so on. He would also talk a lot about how busy his wife is in socializing with "relatives" and how younger and happy she looks by now.

Angie thought everything is just her father's imagination. Therefore, she chose to ignore his stories. Until one night, she woke up and saw her mother standing at the foot of her bed...and yes, she looks lovelier than when she was still alive.

To her she said, "I am not here because I cannot move on. In fact, there is no reason why I won't because I am confident that you and your siblings will not forsake your dad. But I know that he will surely miss how I personally take care of him. And that is also what I miss..."

The Immortal One and the Moon Maiden

The story began when the world was young, when man lived with different entities and beings on earth, when all kinds of different magickal beings lived amongst men as Angels and Demons rule the land.

There lived a man with many skills comparable to Achilles and with the strength comparable to Hercules. He was a hunter and lives a solitary life in the wild forest where all kinds of creatures roam freely. He was called Immortal One.

On cloudless nights where the moon is full, Mother Gaia would show her majestic night sky and would allow her moon maidens to take a bath from the sacred pool of the muses. One of the moon maidens is Ella. She has a golden hair that is as soft as silk and cotton. When the moon shines over the sacred pool, a golden silver green and blue veil would open. And from that veil, the noble, serene young lady would emerge with all the grandeur of the night sky looking down upon her as she immerses herself in the water.

One tranquil night while Ella was bathing in the sacred pool, knowing nothing of her surrounding, a pair of 6 eyes was watching her every move --- a 10 foot reptilian beast that silently stalks its prey; and as it gets ready to sprung for a quick attack on the Moon Maiden, a thunderous flash of lightning came and brawled with the beast.

As the moon maiden emerges out naked from the sacred pool, the air around her thickens and wraps her with a white glowing satin cloth.

Staring at her beauty was the blooded hunter who after overthrowing the beast was then speechless and could not move because Ella's long hair had already paralyzed him. With only a smile on her face as a sign of gratitude, the moon maiden released the hunter as she walks back to the veil and disappears, leaving only the scent of jasmin and rose in the cold air of the night.

Night after night, the Immortal One would come back at the same spot where he once saw the beautiful moon maiden. From night until dawn, the hunter would wait patiently and eagerly. Until one evening, the moon shines over the sacred pool and Ella appeared in front the hunter. The hunter knelt down on his knees offering nothing but his life as he confesses to the moon maiden how she captured his heart. And every time the moon is full, the hunter awaits patiently for her arrival.

In an unfortunate turn of events, the heavens above decided to purge and separate all realities back then. Water was used to purge and cleanse the earth of all inhabitants.

Immortal One said, "I will search for you through a thousand worlds, and ten thousand lifetimes, until I find you."

Ella, the Moon Maiden replied, "Wait for me, until I come back and we will be one again."

And the great flood came, sealing all doorways, purging the earth, leaving only humans alike to live; and as time passes by, Immortal One was killed in battle and his soul was reincarnated, and so is Ella's soul.

Present Time...

A momentous occasion was about to happen. It's a church wedding where everyone is happy. The bride and groom were excited; and as the wedding commences, a small voice in the air whispered, "Why didn't you wait for me?"

The Celestial and the Human Being

According to lore, there are gigantic beings in the galaxy who are very powerful. They are about 2000 ft. tall and are called Celestials. Their duty is to guard the entire universe. One day, a human being contacted one of them.

CELESTIAL: What do you need?

HUMAN: We are experiencing massive psychic attacks. Please help us.

CELESTIAL: Sorry I can't.

HUMAN: Why not? You are big and powerful.

CELESTIAL: Because I have bigger concerns than you do. I am watching over the universe to make sure that everything is in order. Your problem is just a piece of cake.

Do You Want To See Something Scary?

The cold wind of night shift struck Nick's face as he walked briskly towards the high building where he works. It was a cold summer evening, a blessing to some people who have a hard time sleeping to a scorching afternoon.

As he stood in front of the entrance he opened the door and pushed the cold metallic handle and walked on towards the elevator.

"Good evening sir." A fat bald security officer greeted him without looking. He was probably reading pornographic materials, Nick thought with a chuckle.

"Good evening Harvey," he said quickly. The elevator opened and he stepped inside the small and almost claustrophobic four cornered space. He wondered how can this elevator support the morning shift. The building have 12 floors in it. The elevator opened up on the 6th floor of the building and he looked for a vacant seat.

"Good thing it's a weekend. Less people, more seats for me," he mumbled as he sat on the first cubicle that he saw.

Hours passed. Boredom struck him. He even started checking the social network website to pass the time. The last of his colleague already left to go home. He was the only one left for the closer shift when normally there were 2 or 3 of them left; but unfortunately, one of them is sick and the other one was on vacation. Lucky S.O.B.'s he thought. Suddenly, the computer shuts down, including the one that he have and resets to an unfamiliar screen.

"What the fuck!" He cursed at the same time puzzled in what he is seeing.

A question appeared from his screen, "Hello what's your name?"

He stared at the screen slack-jawed; not sure what to do about it. He remembered a program that was done by her college classmates, an A.I. program that can somehow communicate when answered or questioned. He was not sure what if he was going to answer or not.

"C'mon don't be shy. Tell me what's your name," it retyped again.

Out of curiosity of this surreal incident he responded and typed in, "I'm Nick. Who are you?"

"It doesn't matter. I'm called by many names. I'm kinda lonely and hungry now, Nick. Watcha eatin'?"

Not sure if he wants to respond again and he kept thinking that he should be calling I.T. right now, but curiosity got the best of him.

"Burger and fries. Tell me something about yourself."

It responded quickly, "Me? Nothing much to tell. Just lonely and hungry. Wow, burgers and fries! I bet you're plump right now," it followed. "Hey Nick, do you want to see something scary?"

Surprised by the question, he was taken aback and responded, "What...why?"

"It's just a simple question. Do you want to see something scary?"

He felt uneasy. A tight knot on his stomach started.

"LOOK AT YOUR BACK!" it quickly typed in.

His skin crawled with goosebumps and froze on his chair. Too afraid to turn or to what he might find, he gathered the strength that he have to turn around and...there was nothing. Just vacant cubicles in the dark.

As he spun around, he saw the strange A.I. responded, "Fooled you...but do you really want to see something scary?" the remaining lights closed off and the screen on his computer switched to a different screen; a greyed screen with a dark figure standing with it's back on the screen. Nick froze and stared at the figure. It turned around slowly. It was purely black except for the red eyes and long fangs, it moved towards the screen.

As the hands of the strange figure came out from the screen slowly and grab Nick on the shoulder "I'm hungry Nick. I'm very hungry," it pulled Nick toward its mouth and the last thing that Nick saw was the sharp fang enough to bite his face off. He felt the hot breath of the strange creature and the crunching sound as his face torn off in silent scream.

The Dead Speaks

"The dead speaks to me! Please, you have to believe me," begged the man who is wearing a prisoner's clothes. He looked at the man that was on his front. He looked at them with haunting eyes and disheveled hair.

The man rubbed his hands nervously "You have to believe me doc. They taunt me, they tell me things and it scares me," he continued almost in a resigned tone.

The man that was looking at him gave him a dispassionate look...looks that only skeptical people can give; and that frustrates the hopeless man.

"We found the bodies of your family. You shot your own wife with a rifle that you own and we also found your own kid lying dead beside your pool. You're telling me that the dead told you to kill your own family?" he asked with a raised brow. "Maybe it's time for you to accept the responsibility that it was your choice that you killed them and not blame the dead people about what you did."

The pleading man got quiet. Despair took over him and cried over and put his face on two hands. The sobs echoed around the four cornered dark room where prisoners are being interrogated. The only visible light was the white light lit up above the gray table where both men are.

The skeptical man picked something under the table "You know you can always end your misery, right here right now," he said soothingly.

The tired man looked at him as he hold his sobs and burst into chuckle, "Oh yeah, how?"

The doctor leaned on the table and looked at him while he slid a sliver of glass and smiled. His eyes went pitch black. His face suddenly stretched and his mouth turned wide. Out of fear and total panic, the prisoner took the sliver of glass and stabbed his neck. Blood burst and flowed from the veins of his neck and made a chocking sound....
