The Shadow by the Window

It happened summer of 2013.

It was after midnight. My friends and I were on our way home from the bowling alley where we used to hangout. We always take a shortcut, thru a subdivision, a small alley, just across our “tambayan”. While walking and goofing around, I stopped and noticed a shadow standing outside a window in one of the houses.

Thinking it could be a thief, I started to whisper the sighting to one of my friends. So we all hushed, we decided to look closer. I pointed to the house where the shadow was. All of them stared at me and said, “There is nobody there.”

Okay, my eyes could have been fooling me; so I decided to look closer. I stepped and crept closer. I stared at the window. Still, I see the shadow peering in the window. What happened next scared me and frightened all my friends.

The “shadow” stared at me with glowing eyes. I felt my chest tightened. There is fear I guess; but there was something else. I felt water in my lungs or something like I was drowning. Two of my guy friends came to my aid, pulling me away from the house.

Days after, I took the same route with a friend.

Floral bouquets and large electric candelabras were standing outside the house where I saw the shadow. Curious, I asked one of their neighbor. The neighbor told us that the old man from the house died. How? Water went to his heart. I don’t know how they call it in the medical world. This is not new to me because I’m used to seeing ghostly apparitions, shadow people, etc.

Now, what I want to know is, could that shadow figure be the Angel of Death?

  1. Your story did not only give me goosebumps; I saw what you saw. They are always in the shadows--lurking. Blessings!
