Why Pay for Psychic Services

IS IT RIGHT TO TAK PAYMENT FOR GIVING PSYCHIC SERVICES?

A lot of people would always argue with me about this thing. Many are saying we should not charge for fortunetelling, intuitive guidance, healing, teaching and the like. We are also being dubbed as scammers because of charging fees for doing psychic services. I will be firm with my stand that there is nothing wrong about getting paid for giving a service; especially if you are giving the best. I want people here in CPS to have open minds about this.

Since they are using the Bible to judge us, then, it is also what I will use to give enlightenment. Some practitioners who "do not charge" criticize those who do because of this Biblical passage:

MATTHEW 10: 5-10

[5] These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go onto the road of the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. [6] Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. [7] As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.'

[8] Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. [9] Do not carry any gold or silver or copper in your belts. [10] Take no bag for the road, or second tunic, or sandals, or staff; for the worker is worthy of his provisions.

Being a former Bible teacher, I was taught to interpret Biblical passages from the context and not just from the text. In this scenario, the disciples were being sent to preach the Gospel to their fellow Israelites; not to other races. For the Israelites to believe, they needed to demonstrate God's power. The thing that was received for free and is to be given for free is salvation; not services.

TITUS 3: 4 - 5

[4] But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, [5] He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy...

Always remember that mercy can never be bought. It was given out of the fullness of one's heart. That is why salvation was given for free.

The disciples were told not to bring gold, silver, copper, bag, extra clothing, staff and anything they'll need to survive because even the Bible clearly states that the worker is worthy of his provisions.

Google how people of the ancient times bring gifts to prophets whenever they want to ask for help. Here is one example:

1 SAMUEL 9: 6 - 8

[6] He said to him, "Behold now, there is a man of God in this city, and the man is held in honor; all that he says surely comes true. Now let us go there, perhaps he can tell us about our journey on which we have set out." [7] Then Saul said to his servant, "But behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread is gone from our sack and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?" [8] The servant answered Saul again and said, "Behold, I have in my hand a fourth of a shekel of silver; I will give it to the man of God and he will tell us our way."

WHY DO WE RECEIVE MONEY FROM OUR CLIENTS NOW?

Money was not yet invented during the ancient times and the system of exchange being used then is bartering. Ask me to cut a tree for you, you'll promise to give me an ax in return. Ask me for some fruits from my backyard, you'll promise to give me herbs in return.

To cut a long story short, this system has evolved and money was finally invented for convenience. Since then, instead of accepting cattle, crops, linen, silver and others, money became the most acceptable medium of exchange. And that is also what we take from you now. If you are still laid back and you want to bring goats and other precious things, of course, we will still be willing to accept those, especially, if that is all you can give for an exchange; however, wouldn't that be too inconvenient for both of us?

Taking away the Biblical side of this issue, why do you pay psychics for the services given to you? No, you don't pay us for saving you through the guidance and healing you get from us; because salvation remains priceless. You compensate us for the time, energy and skills we share with you.

Our time is not free. Whenever we share it with you, that means we are taking away a precious portion of it from our families and other affairs in life. We'll need to eat and drink whenever we use up our energies. We certainly wouldn't go out of the house naked to meet you. Moreover, developing professional skills will require a lot from the one who wants to be good in his chosen path. Once a person becomes skilled, they'll have the right to get the exchange they deserve.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SCAM SOMEONE?

Scamming means to transact with dishonesty. If I am claiming I am this and that just to get money although I am not really skilled, then I am scamming you. If you pay for something you did not get, that is scamming too.

Giving something for free can just be a marketing strategy of many. Behind that, many things that are no longer free will be offered to you. Some will read, heal and teach you for free; but you'll be their subjects for a long time...sometimes, even to the extent of acting like their slaves. Giving payments will set us free from any attachment and obligation to another person. That is why it is called "exchange".

Gong back to Biblical principles, we were redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, which means our salvation was already "paid" by someone ahead of time and we are just enjoying the benefits of it now.

It is your prerogative to ask for free services. Who wouldn't want that? However, bear in mind that it is also our prerogative to charge. This is our way of setting boundaries; lest, even nonsense cases will be brought to our staircases and people will always think it is our obligation to please them even if they don't compensate us back.

HAVE A MEANINGFUL LENTEN SEASON!

I may not be Catholic or Christian but I do respect their views and I love so many parts of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, Proverbs and the 4 Gospels. I keep the gold. I throw away the garbage.

Please give me credits if you are going to share this post. Long Live CPS!
